A local guide

Canon City Restaurants

Canon City has two kinds of good eating: the restaurants out on Highway 50 on the way to the Royal Gorge, and the walkable downtown along Main Street and Royal Gorge Blvd. We have been on Highway 50 since 2005, feeding rafters, river guides and locals. Here is where we send people.

On Highway 50, by the Royal Gorge

Whitewater Bar & Grill

45045 Hwy 50 West, about 10 minutes west of downtown. Closed for the season; reopens April 16, 2027.

All-natural Colorado beef burgers, the Slopper (open-faced and smothered in pork green chili), BBQ nachos and hand-spun curly fries, with a big patio and live music on Saturday nights in season. The easy stop before or after rafting, the zipline or the Royal Gorge Bridge.

Downtown Canon City

Whitewater Rooftop Social
